As Audi expands its EV portfolio, this week it revealed its latest addition, the A6 e-tron.
The A6 e-tron is the second electric car on Audi’s new ‘Premium Platform Electric’, following the Q6 e-tron.
Order books for the A6 e-tron will open just next month.

Audi’s latest premium EV
The A6 e-tron will be offered in four specific forms: both as a saloon-cum-hatchback ‘Sportback’, and as an estate, with the ‘Avant’. Both body styles are also available in sporty ‘S6’ form, which will be a serious performer – with around 500hp, a top speed of 149mph, and a 0-62mph time of 3.9 seconds.
Audi is proudly touting the A6 e-tron’s extremely low drag coefficient of 0.21Cd, which has been achievable with the car being built from the ground up as an EV, like the Q6 e-tron, rather than as a legacy ICE platform. Not only does that bode well for seriously impressive range capabilities, with a range of over 450 miles possible, but noise levels inside should also be whisper quiet, making it the ultimate long distance tourer. This also makes it the most aerodynamic car ever built in Audi’s history, and the most aerodynamic model available within the wider Volkswagen Group.
While full pricing hasn’t been revealed, the A6 Sportback e-tron will start at €75,600 ($81,500), while the S6 Sportback e-tron will start at €99,500 ($107,340). Expect to spend a couple thousand more, for either in estate form.
Gernot Döllner, Chairman of the Board of Management at Audi AG, commented:
“The A6 e-tron is the first purely electric Audi model available as a Sportback and Avant… Its striking design enables the best aerodynamics in the portfolio and therefore greater efficiency. It will inspire enthusiasm for e-mobility with its long range of well over 435 miles and outstanding driving dynamics.”
